Camilla and Kate champion cancer patients on same day

Camilla and Kate appear to be in sync as the Queen visits patients at a cancer charity in Scotland on the same day the Princess of Wales broke cover to visit Colchester Hospital in Essex.

On Wednesday, July 2, Queen Camilla visited the cancer charity in Fife that she’s president of called Maggie’s Centre. There, she met with staff, volunteers, and patients, including 37-year-old Gregor Forbes, who was diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin lymphoma just a week before his son’s birth.

The visit came hours after the Queen accompanied King Charles to honour the 100-year anniversary of Kirkcaldy’s War Memorial. Later in the day, she is expected to return to Holyroodhouse Palace to host a reception for the Queen’s Nursing Institute of Scotland.

Meanwhile, over in Essex, Kate Middleton made a powerful return to royal duties after almost two weeks with a visit to Colchester Hospital’s well-being garden. There, the mom-of-three spoke candidly about life after her cancer treatment, calling it “really, really difficult.”

“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment’s done… but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,” Kate said, adding that adjusting to a “new normal” was “life-changing” and far from smooth.

“It’s a rollercoaster,” Princess Catherine shared. “You go through hard times.”
