Keke Palmer doesn't rule out releasing Jonathan Majors interview in the future
Keke Palmer recently opened up about her decision to scrap an interview with Jonathan Majors on her podcast, Baby, This is Keke Palmer.
The interview was recorded but never released due to backlash from fans who felt it was insensitive given Majors' conviction for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
In a conversation with The Breakfast Club, Palmer explained that she wanted to remain unbiased as a podcast host, which is why she was open to interviewing Majors despite his conviction.
"You don’t agree with everything they did, you don’t love everything, but you got to have the conversation. You have to set the stage for them to speak and for people to watch and take what they want to take from it, so that’s why I was open and excited to do the interview," she said.
However, Palmer's team decided to pull the interview due to the negative reaction from fans. "People felt it was insensitive. I always want to be respectful and understand where everybody’s coming from. If they’re not going to feel like they’re going to receive anything good from the interview, then okay, cool," Palmer explained.
Despite the decision to shelve the interview, Palmer hasn't ruled out releasing it in the future. She wants to give people a chance to form their own opinions and emphasized that she's not one to judge.
The interview was replaced with an episode featuring rapper Kash Doll, who discussed co-parenting and her recent breakup.
