Simone Ashley has recently been removed from Brad Pitt’s upcoming racing movie, F1.
The F1 director Joseph Kosinski explained the reason behind the surprising news, telling PEOPLE, “It happens on every movie, where you have to shoot more than you can use.”
“There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make into the final cut,” remarked the 51-year-old.
However, the movie-maker added that Simone “is an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again”.
For the unversed, it was first announced in July 2024 that the Bridgerton star had been cast in the Formula One racing drama alongside Brad and Damson Idris.
However, her role was removed from the movie, which also stars Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia and Javier Bardem.
Interestingly, Simone didn’t make any comment about her removal from the movie as of yet.
Earlier this month, the actress spoke to ELLE and stated making F1 was a “crazy” experience.
“I have a very small part, but I’m grateful to be in that movie,” she said at the time.
Simone mentioned, “I got to experience many Grands Prix. I don’t think I’ll ever do anything like that again.”
Meanwhile, the actress previously told Who What Wear in March that production on the movie had been “going for years”.
“I met for this movie, I think, before Bridgerton even came out,” pointed out the actress.
Simone added, “It's been a long time, and you know, it's Damson and Brad's movie. I'm just so grateful that I can be part of it.”
