Sydney Sweeney recently reflected on her “crazy” body transformation ahead of the release of her upcoming Christy Martin biopic.
The Euphoria actress offered a glimpse into her intense training schedule for the role of the legendary boxer.
In an exclusive conversation with W Magazine, Sweeney said, “I came onboard to play Christy, and I had about three and a half months of training. I started eating. I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour.”
According to Variety, the 27-year-old star gained more than 30 pounds during her intense preparation for the role.
Later in the interview, the Anyone but You actress revealed that she struggled to fit into any of her clothes.
Speaking to the outlet, she said, “I’m usually a size 23 in jeans, and I was wearing a size 27. My b**bs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, ‘Oh my God’. It was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong.”
The Immaculate star announced her involvement in the biopic in October 2024 via Instagram, writing, “thanks to some paps in bushes.”
For the unversed, the upcoming film is directed by David Michod and revolves around 1990s female boxer Christy Martin.
