At the couple's star-studded celebration on June 27, British pop star Ellie Goulding took the stage to perform, just as she had at Prince William and Princess Kate's 2021 royal wedding.
The Grammy-nominated singer delivered her signature cover of Elton John's Your Song at the reception on San Giorgio island-the very same track she sang during the royal couple's first dance at their second reception in Buckingham Palace's Throne Room on April 29, 2011.
The song holds deep emotional significance for the Royal Family. Elton John, a close friend of Princess Diana, performed a reworked version of the ballad at her funeral in 1997, adding further sentiment to the musical choice.
In a 2012 interview with the Mail, Goulding recalled the nerve-wracking yet unforgettable experience of performing at the royal wedding.
'Performing the first dance of the night, Your Song was nerve-wracking.' She added: 'But William and Kate were very appreciative. They are an awesome couple and told me how much they enjoyed it.'
The Venice wedding also featured musical acts by Usher, who performed his hit Yeah, along with sets from DJ Cassidy, DJ Kygo and DJ Mei Kwok.
